5 Dog-Friendly Hotspots in Montreal to Spoil Your Pup (and Yourself!)

5-minute read time | by Charlotte Smith

Montreal is bursting with charm, cafés, and cozy corners—and the best part? Some of them actually roll out the red carpet for your four-legged sidekick. Whether you’re chasing a latte, brunching with your bark-mate, or planning a mini staycation, we’ve rounded up five paw-some Montreal dog friendly cafés and hangouts where your pup is welcome to tag along.

Grab the leash and let’s explore! 🐾

1. Ruby Café at Doggyville

If your pup had thumbs, Ruby Café would be the place they’d text the group chat about. Tucked inside Doggyville, this café is part brunch, part bark-fest. They serve up drool-worthy human bites AND have a doggy menu (yes, paw-cakes are a thing). Your favourite managers here at W & W loved visiting here and we were obsessed with the elevated grilled cheese and our puppy friends were as equally in LOVE with the Woof Loaf!

📍 Location: Griffintown
🐕 Why we love it: Ruby is basically brunch with your BFF, but fuzzier and with more tail wags. Perfect for when you want to sip a latte while your pup flirts with the table next door.

2. Hotel Vogue (dog friendly hotel Montreal)

Thinking of a little fur-flix and chill staycation? Hotel Vogue downtown is the real deal. They’re not just dog-friendly—they’ll even help with in-room pet sitting so you can enjoy the city stress-free.

📍 Location: Downtown Montreal
🐕 Why we love it: A luxe escape where your pup gets treated like royalty. Honestly, who wouldn’t want turndown service AND belly rubs?

3. Pigeon Café on Monkland (Monkland dog cafe gem!)

Sometimes the best finds are the cozy corners. Pigeon Café is one of Monkland Village’s hidden treasures—fresh pastries, incredible coffee, and a vibe that screams “stay a while.” Pups are always welcome, making this a true Monkland dog cafe to bookmark. Don’t forget to order your pup some scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast and a little whipped cream for a DIY pup cup! It’s our girl, Shprinsta’s favourite little hangout!

📍 Location: Monkland Village
🐕 Why we love it: The perfect pit stop after a walk. Think: coffee in one hand, leash in the other, and your dog snoozing at your feet.

4. La Maison Lavande

Okay, this one is a little outside the city—but with two locations, it is so so so so worth it. La Maison Lavande in Saint-Eustache and another place in Laval is a dreamy lavender farm where dogs are more than welcome to explore alongside you on leash. Wander through purple fields, sip lavender lemonade (a personal favourite of the team), and let your pup take in all the new sniffs. As long as you pick up after your pooch, then this place is a puppy photoshoot just waiting to happen

📍 Location: Saint-Eustache (a short drive from Montreal) or the edge of Laval
🐕 Why we love it: It’s Insta-heaven—lavender rows for days, fresh air, and the kind of place where you and your pup can both fully unwind.

5. Café Cosé 🐶

This Plateau spot is already a favourite with our team—especially for their Vietnamese egg coffee (trust us, you need to try it). And the best part? Thanks to Quebec’s new law allowing dogs on terraces, your pup can chill with you inside or outside. So please make sure to swing by before the leaves start changing and the weather gets too cold to justify taking Spot out without a sweater

📍 Location: Plateau-Mont-Royal
🐕 Why we love it: Whether you’re curling up indoors or basking in the sun out front, Café Cosé makes sure your pup feels like part of the crew. Great coffee + a wagging tail by your side = perfection.
